We’re thrilled to bake for you! These terms and conditions serve as the contract between the client and Peony Bakery. By submitting payment, the client is agreeing to these terms and conditions. Terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. 

Return Policy

Due to the effort put into each of our handcrafted products and perishable nature of our goods, we are unable to provide refunds or exchanges. All sales are final. Once an item has been shipped by Peony Bakery or picked up by you or a designated party it is considered "Accepted". All products are the responsibility of the client once it is accepted. When the customer accepts the order, the client waives any rights to a refund based on the style, design or visual appearance of the cake. Baked goods flavors and textures are subjective. Refunds requested due to flavor or texture after goods have been accepted and picked up will not be honored. Depending on the circumstance, Peony Bakery will issue a store credit or re-order. Due to the perishable nature of our product, all claims submitted after the 48 hour delivery or pickup window or without proper photo or order number will not be eligible for credit or re-order. For custom orders, we require a 50% non-refundable retainer within 48 hours of confirming your order with us and a signed contract agreement to our bakery policy. Should the contract be terminated by the client, 100% of the retainer is non-refundable. Final payments are due 2 weeks before the event date for custom orders.

Cancellations and Modifications

If you need to make changes or cancel an order, please notify Peony Bakery within 48 hours before your scheduled pickup time or shipping date. Cancellations will result in store credit only. For custom orders, please notify Peony Bakery 14 days before your scheduled pickup time. We will do our best to accommodate your needs, however, such requests may not be possible due to the order processing schedule. Cancellation requests outside our notification timeframe for pickup or shipped date will forfeit the full cost of order. Changes made outside our notification timeframe might not be honored.

Guaranteed Freshness

All cookies are handcrafted and packaged in airtight sealed bags to ensure freshness. All shipments are sent using next day ground or two-day service using bubble mailer and/or wrap to ensure the quality and freshness of our products during transit. For best results, our goods should be consumed within 5-7 days of delivery.

To achieve optional “warm & fresh out of the oven” taste and texture, try microwaving the cookie for 5-10 seconds, depending on the microwave strength, or reheating in oven. Colors may vary slightly from photographs shown as our products are made by hand.

Shipping Policy

Shipments can only be delivered to a street address within the United States. UPS will not to deliver to P.O. Boxes. Peony Bakery is not responsible for delays in delivery times due to incorrect or incomplete addresses. Shipments that are returned or require rerouting due to incorrect addresses will be subject to additional charges for reshipment and/or relabeling for UPS. Shipping charges will not be refunded for late deliveries in the event the business is closed or if the recipient is not available to receive the package when delivered, UPS may require a signature for delivery at the discretion of the driver.

Peony Bakery ships throughout the United States using UPS as our third party shipping carrier. Orders are only shipped nationwide, using UPS 2nd Day Air Shipping and UPS Ground Shipping (for expected next day), on Monday & Tuesday to avoid weekend overlays. We do not ship nationwide on Thursdays, Fridays, weekends, or holidays. Because shipments are at the discretion of UPS, we cannot guarantee an exact delivery date. Outside WA and OR state, we use UPS 2nd Day Air Shipping and they usually arrive within 2 days. Within WA & OR, we use UPS Ground Shipping and most orders arrive the next day.

Estimated delivery timelines do not take unexpected weather delays into consideration, which may affect shipping and arrival dates. During peak holiday season in the month of December, order arrival dates may get delayed due to the high volume of orders received. Please communicate any specific delivery date requests to us via email or give us a call at 408-780-4969.

Peony Bakery is not responsible for any UPS delivery delays.

Rights and Waivers

Peony Bakery reserves the right to take photos of the product for display or promotion without the client’s consent. Peony Bakery is not responsible for any damage to the products after the client has accepted the order. The product may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy and other allergens. The client is responsible for notifying those the client shares the product with. Peony Bakery is not responsible for any adverse effects of allergic reactions. Upon the event of a natural disaster, accident or other situation outside of Peony Bakery's control, the order may be voided. Peony Bakery will endeavor to perform its services in a professional manner and provide the best customer experience possible. In the event that our products or services do not meet our high standards, or the client is dissatisfied, we may, at our discretion, provide the amount paid for those products and services in the form of store credit. Peony Bakery's total liability is hereby limited to amounts paid to Peony Bakery for its goods and services. Peony Bakery will not be liable for any special, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, whether foreseen or unforeseen, regardless of whether liability is based on breach of contract, breach of express or implied warranty, negligence, strict liability, tort, or otherwise. Only items, actions and dessert details explicitly listed in the invoice are guaranteed by Peony Bakery.
